Monica Mei Chiu has been busy lately. The Ryerson Fashion Communication graduate has found a winning combination with her passion for fashion design and business acumen.

While at Ryerson, Monica Mei was awarded $25,000 in the campus-wide Standard Broadcasting Business Plan Competition for her designer label, Aime Luxury. Now in the real world, she's turning her vision into a business. Her Aime Luxury collection of eco-chic designs is now in boutiques across the United States and Canada, and Flare magazine has recognized her as one Canada's best new designers.

Monica Mei gives Ryerson high marks for helping her succeed. Internships with Armani in New York, Johanna Ho in Hong Kong and Ports International in China exposed her to every stage of the fashion business. These experiences proved to be invaluable when she set out to create Aime Luxury.

Like many Ryerson students, grads and faculty, Monica Mei has combined learning and experience to make her mark. It's that unique combination of academic and real-life knowledge that makes Ryerson students a different kind of graduate.
